Managing Partner Nelson Eddy Named Copywriter of the Year; Firm’s Client Jack Daniel’s Takes Top Prize for Print
NEW YORK, March 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — FINN Partners Nashville office, DVL Seigenthaler, took home the most awards at the 54th Annual Nashville Advertising “Addy” Awards, winning a total of 25 prizes – 11 gold and 14 silver commendations – in the city’s preeminent advertising competition on Saturday, March 2.
The agency’s honors recognized exceptional creative work generated in multiple categories and on behalf of the following clients in 2018: Jack Daniel’s Distillery, the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Marine Stewardship Council.

Taking Best-In-Show for Print at the Addy’s were the Jack Daniel’s 30th Annual World Championship Invitational Barbecue posters. Designed by DVL Seigenthaler for decades, the posters have become collectors’ items, generating excitement year-round for the event. This year’s posters encouraged all Americans to come together, as exemplified by the headline, “One Nation Under ‘Cue.” The posters also won golds for overall campaign and print poster, and silver for illustration.
Nelson Eddy, Managing Partner of Creative Services, was named Copywriter of the Year, the second time he has received the honor. Seigenthaler Courtney applauded Eddy’s decades-long tenure with the agency, saying, “Nelson has expertly developed creative concepts and uncommon communication approaches. He focuses on feature writing, and scripting both live performances and videos.”
Eddy added that the agency “was gratified that Jack Daniel’s, its client for more than 30 years, won the Legacy Award for overall excellence in marketing and advertising.”
